PLANT CHARACTERISTICS
GB 722Y is a short stature hybrid when planted earlier in the growing season. This hybrid carries a parent line with cold tolerance making it an above average grain sorghum hybrid for getting off to a fast start early in the season. This hybrid does not have an overabundance of leaves therefore it should be planted in a narrow row spacing (20 inches is ideal) to maximize shading and therefore conserving moisture. Uniformity in height and head size and yield is a strong characteristic of this hybrid. GB 722Y is well adapted to most soil types including lighter and/or rocky soils.
USE OF HYBRID
GB 722Y brings new higher yield levels to an early maturing grain sorghum hybrid. This hybrid should be an excellent choice for farmers who are either planting later in the season or are planting after an early season hail out. Because the genetic background of this hybrid uses a cold tolerant parent, GB 722Y should handle colder growing temperatures better than most average grain sorghum hybrids. Planting in narrow rows of 20 inches should be ideal for this hybrid to maximize its yield potential on your better dryland.
GB 722Y is a very uniform hybrid with exceptional threshability and excellent standability.
GB 722Y is dependable high yielding for its maturity grain sorghum hybrid with an excellent defensive agronomic package.
